The German national team won their first game in the World Cup qualification without too much trouble by winning 3-0 (2-0) in Norway. The two Borussia Dortmund players Mario Götze and Julian Weigl were both in the team for Germany.

Götze said: "it was important to start the group with a win." This was his 58. full international for Germany, where he played as the central striker for 72 minutes. Götze added: "if the opponent stays deep it is not easy to get the ball. In this position you try to make space for your team mates." The World Champion returns to Dortmund on Monday: "we have some great tasks ahead of us. I am looking forward to the Champions League, I am lookimg forward to Borussia Dortmund."

Julian Weigl was brought on in the 84. minute to make his 3. full international appearance. (br)
