Speaking to sky after the game, Thomas Tuchel took the 1-0 defeat in Leipzig in his stride. The BVB coach also labelled the lack of shots and the lack of shots on target as "a shortcoming". Here we bring you the coaches' reactions.

Thomas Tuchel (BVB): "In the first half we had five shots but not a single one of them was on target. That is a shortcoming. The lack of accuracy makes things difficult. We had enough chances, and even spells in which we would have deserved to take the lead. Time and time again we made unnecessary mistakes, which is why we couldn't establish ourselves in the opposition half. We were not forced into errors so often; we made life difficult for ourselves. It was in our hands to take the lead right up until the end. We had a very good tackle win ratio, we were ready for the match, but we were lacking accuracy in our shooting. We put in a very good performance against a very aggressive opponent for long spells of the match. I do not think that we deserved to lose."

Ralph Hasenhüttl (Leipzig): "If you want to beat BVB, then everything has to be just right. It was exactly the start that we wanted. A highlight. We were the team that had the clearer plan going forward. However, we could have also fallen behind.  Thank God we also have the quality to take things up a notch with our substitutions. We know where we have come from. We still have a lot to learn, but we are very much on the right track." (fu)
