The team keep their nerve in front of their own fans: no Dortmund player has ever missed a penalty in a penalty shoot-out at the Strobelallee. The facts to the Cup game against Union Berlin.

Strong at home: Borussia Dortmund do not often have the privilege of playing at home in the DFB Cup, however winning at home is now common place. The Black Yellows have won all six matches in front of their own fans since the 1-2 against Werder Bremen on the 28.January 2009

Extra time: BVB had to go into extra time for the tenth time in a Cup home match - and they have never been knocked out of the Cup this way! They won six times, twice they had to replay the game away from home after drawing the match after 120 minutes (the old system) - twice it went to...

Penalties: it is only the second time that BVB had to decide a Cup match at home through penalties. On the 12.September 1992 Borussia won 5-4 on penalties in their first home Cup match to be decided by penalties against Bayern Munich. All five Dortmund penalty takers scored from the spot: Reuter, Poschner, Reinhardt, Chapuisat and Zorc.

Berlin is worth the journey for many fans - and Berlin is always a welcomed opponent for Borussia in the DFB Cup. BVB faced a club from the capital for the fifth time and also went through to  the next round for the fifth time: three times against Hertha (1968 by 2-1, 2-1 aet in 2008, 3-0 in 2016) and one time each against TeBe (1965 by 2-1) and now against Union. (br)
