Winless streak: For the first time under Thomas Tuchel, Borussia Dortmund have failed to win in four consecutive Bundesliga matches (three draws, one defeat).

Derby record: BVB have yet to be beaten in a derby under Tuchel's leadership (one win, two draws).

Poor first period: For the first time since records began in 1992, Dortmund failed to register a single shot in the first 45 minutes of a home game (it has happened away from home only three times since 1992, most recently in 2003). The Black and Yellows' first chance came in the 53rd minute.

BVB come alive: Despite taking a while to get going, BVB ultimately had more shots than Schalke (9:8). Of the 17 shots between the two sides, only three were actually on target.

Goalless: BVB have now failed to find the net three times this season – as many times as they did in the entirety of the 2015/16 campaign.

Cards aplenty: There were a season-high eight yellow cards (four for each team) in the derby. This season, only the clash between Hertha and HSV has yielded so many bookings.

Chopping and changing: BVB have now fielded eight different back fours in their nine Bundesliga matches this season. However, Passlack, Ginter, Sokratis and Piszczek had already played together in the DFB Cup against Union.
