Borussia Dortmund will face Benfica in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League following Monday lunchtime's draw in Nyon. The exact dates of the fixtures were announced less than two hours later.

BVB will travel away to Benfica on 14 February 2017, with the return leg at Signal Iduna Park on 8 March.

Portuguese side Benfica finished Group B in second place behind Italian outfit Napoli. As Group F winners, Borussia Dortmund were seeded in the draw for the last 16 that took place in Nyon this lunchtime and were drawn against a second-placed team by Dutch special guest Ruud Gullit.

Club members of Borussia Dortmund will be able to order tickets for the return leg at Signal Iduna Park from Friday 13 January (8:30 CET) onwards by calling the BVB call centre on 01805-309000 (€0.14/min from German landline phones, €0.42/min from a mobile network). Season ticket holders who have booked one of the "International" or "Maximal" packages will receive a bill, which is usually sent by e-mail, for this Champions League home game at the beginning of next year. Once the payment has been debited, the season ticket is activated for this match.
