For the first time ever, from the 9th to the 20th January, BVB’s Evonik Soccer School stopped off in Australia, and brought a total of 155 children the black and yellow football experience halfway around the world in "down under".

Fun and pure joy for the kids in Australia.

BVB coaches Julia Farr and Markus Pasdzior from Dortmund made the first stop 16,514 km away from Sydney. 80 enthusiastic footballers, comprising boys and girls, excitedly threw on their black and yellow gear on the first day and then went ‘at full throttle, just like the professionals!” during the intensive four-day camp. All of those responsible, especially the coaches and cooperation partner Benchmark Sports and Entertainment as well as all of the helpers at the venue of the Southern District Soccer Football Association admired the tricks, passion, enthusiasm and the fun had by the youngest generation of footballers. At the end of the week it was time to say goodbye, but for many of the children, one thing was clear: “we are coming to Dortmund and will see you again!”

Aside from intense training, team spirit was particularly important for the team coaches.

The next stop was Adelaide. Even at the Christian Brothers College in South Australia, the kids did not let the summer heat keep them from learning a lot and having fun with the BVB coaches. Team-building activities, co-operation games and trust exercises rounded off the intensive training program and made the first black-yellow visit to faraway Australia perfect.
