Having faced Union Berlin in the Second Round, BVB will take on another club from the capital, Hertha BSC, on Wednesday evening (kick-off 20:45 CET) as they attempt to overcome the next hurdle en route to reaching the Berlin showpiece on 27 May. It is a tie that coach Thomas Tuchel has labelled as "very difficult".

As Pal Dardai's charges demonstrated in the 1-1 draw when the clubs met in the Bundesliga earlier this term, they are focused in defence and rarely make mistakes. They have kept a clean sheet in seven of their last 19 league outings, have a solid defensive basis on which to build counters and are usually clinical in front of goal: the capital club currently boast the best conversion rate in the Bundesliga.

Tuchel has therefore described them as "a very well-drilled team", adding: "It's difficult to create chances against them; it's difficult to really turn on the tempo because they're capable of defending in an orderly, disciplined and patient manner."

But raising the tempo and pressing the capital club back into their own half is exactly what BVB will be hoping to do. Tuchel is expecting a "balancing act between playing an emotional game and minimising simple mistakes." (br)
