Borussia Dortmund have reached the DFB Cup quarter-finals for the sixth successive year, after taking part in their ninth penalty shootout. Here we bring you the match facts.

Dominant: BVB enjoyed 14 shots to Hertha's eight and had 69 percent possession. They narrowly dominated the challenges too, winning 52 percent of the tackles.

Last eight: Borussia Dortmund have now reached the quarter-finals of the DFB Cup for the 17th time in total, and the sixth time in as many seasons.

Home run: The Black and Yellows have not lost a DFB Cup tie at Signal Iduna Park for eight years. The last defeat on home turf came on 28 January 2009, when they were beaten 2-1 by Werder Bremen. However, they have only played seven times in front of their own fans since then.

Penalty shootout: Tonight was the third time a BVB DFB Cup home tie has been decided from the penalty spot. On 12 September 1992, Borussia recorded a 5-4 shootout victory over Bayern Munich. All five Dortmund takers found the net that day: Reuter, Poschner, Reinhardt, Chapuisat und Zorc. In the 3-0 win over Union Berlin in the Second Round of this year's competition, the three takers – Dembélé, Ginter und Götze – were all on target too.

100% record versus Hertha: It was the fourth Cup clash between the sides and BVB have won all four, following up wins in 1968 (2-1), 2008 (2-1 AET) and 2016 (3-0) with a fourth victory over the capital club tonight.

A possible first: The BVB captain's armband changed hands four times over the course of 120 minutes, making its way from Marcel Schmelzer to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang via Marco Reus and Sokratis. (br)
