Given that the DFB Cup last eight fixture between Sportfreunde Lotte and Borussia Dortmund cannot be rescheduled until mid-March, one of the four balls will contain two names and two logos when the draw for the semi-finals takes place late on Wednesday evening.

"A new date for the fixture will be discussed on Wednesday and a decision will be announced during the course of the day," said a DFB statement on Tuesday evening. Should Borussia Dortmund make it through to the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League, the only time the fixture could be squeezed in would be during the week from 13 to 19 March.

As BVB's Bundesliga Matchday 25 clash with Ingolstadt is scheduled for Friday 17 March that week, the only possible date for the game would be Tuesday 14 March. "This date has been named by the DFB," confirmed Sporting Director Michael Zorc, who added: "We'll discuss this tomorrow and then a date will be fixed."

The draw for the semi-finals will take place as planned on Wednesday following the fourth quarter-final between Bayern Munich and Schalke 04 and will be shown live on the ARD Sportchau programme (23:15 CET), the DFB announced. "The caption inside the fourth ball will read Winner Lotte / Dortmund." (br)
