Towards the end every BVB attempt went in, hence the rather generous margin of victory over Bayer Leverkusen, who twice reduced a two-goal deficit but collapsed after Pulisic made it 4-2 for the hosts.

Goals galore: 80,100 spectators saw the highest-scoring match of the season. With 77 goals in their Bundesliga matches this term, BVB now have the highest-scoring games in the division. Bremen are second, on 73.

Winning run: Borussia Dortmund have won three Bundesliga matches in a row for the first time in over five months. It is the longest winning run the Black and Yellows have put together this season.

Home run: The 2015/16 runners-up are now unbeaten in 32 home league games. There have only been five longer such runs in Bundesliga history.

Lightning fast: Borussia have more goals in the first 15 minutes (11) than any other team.

Dream partnership: Ousmane Dembélé scored his sixth Bundesliga goal – his first in the first half. He now has nine Bundesliga assists, seven of which have set up Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Goal-getter: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has now scored 75 Bundesliga goals for BVB, moving ahead of Robert Lewandowski (74) and into fifth place on the all-time goalscorer list. The club's all-time record goalscorer is Manfred Burgsmüller, who notched up 134 goals in 224 games.

Brace: Aubameyang converted two of his four shots to score his second brace in as many weeks. It is the first time the Gabon international has scored a brace in two consecutive matches. He now tops the goalscoring charts with 20. Today he made more sprints than any other Dortmund player (27).

Unchanged: For the second time under Thomas Tuchel, it was an unchanged side that featured for a second successive game. The last time was on 8 February, when BVB took on Hertha in the DFB Cup.

Landmark: Andre Schürrle reached the 50-goal mark in the Bundesliga on his 187th appearance.

Losing streak: Leverkusen have now lost the third competitive match in a row. There has never been a longer losing streak under Roger Schmidt. In total, five of the last six competitive matches have ended in defeat. It was also Leverkusen's 11th defeat in the current campaign, surpassing the ten they suffered in the entirety of last season. The last time they had lost 11 at this stage of the season was 14 years ago.

Floodgates opened: Leverkusen conceded six in a game for the first time since August 2010, when they were beaten 6-3 by Mönchengladbach.

Yellows galore: Six Leverkusen players were booked – more than in any other Bundesliga match in their history.
