Sebastian Rode was hoping for a different outcome as he made his comeback following a long spell on the sidelines injured. The 26-year-old's last Bundesliga appearance before the 4-1 defeat in Munich came way back on 10 December.

Sebastian, you've made your comeback after four months out, but I guess you'd hoped for a different outcome on your return to Munich?
Sebastian Rode: "I'd have liked a different result on my return. 4-1 is a heavy defeat. Bayern were really on a roll today. And when you go two goals down, you have a tough task on your hands. We did get back into it, but conceding the third directly after the interval put the game beyond us."

How much of an opportunity did you have to cause Bayern more trouble after you'd pulled it back to 2-1?
Rode: "We were still hopeful once we'd made it 2-1. But once we'd let in the third goal so soon after the restart... That was a real tough one to take. We did have the chance to reduce the deficit to 3-2, but we didn't take it and then gave away the penalty directly afterwards. By that point the game was over and we had to make sure we didn't concede any more goals.

How did you find it out there physically?
Rode: "Yeah I can feel it having played 45 minutes, but I've only been back in team training for five days now. I'm delighted to have got back on the pitch and I hope I'll now remain fit for a long time."

You're facing AS Monaco on Tuesday. What are you expecting?
Rode: "Signal Iduna Park will be a cauldron. It's going to be a great game. We'll have gotten the match against Bayern out of our heads by then and we'll put in a different performance."
