Borussia Dortmund and AS Monaco both have their irresistible attacking football to thank for making it into the last eight of the UEFA Champions League. The quarter-finals do not represent uncharted territory for either side: BVB last reached this stage in 2013/14, while Monaco did so in the following season.

The scenario

The winner of this tie will be making their fourth appearance in the UEFA Champions League/European Cup semi-finals. Borussia Dortmund last reached the last four back in the 2012/13 campaign, when they knocked out Spanish giants Real Madrid before going down to domestic rivals FC Bayern Munich in the final in London. AS Monaco, meanwhile, have not reached the semi-final stage since 2004, when they were beaten by FC Porto in the final.
