It was the first training session after the Champions League game against Monaco. Thomas Tuchel said: "we need to find a way, a way back to have fun and to make it all make sense." Every player has to deal with what has happened in his own way. "We don't think that you can just pour water over it all and it will go away." The players have all the support they need available.

Training on Thursday consisted of running and regeneration - and the coaching staff giving some feedback about the performance on Wednesday under surreal conditions. Tuchel was speaking about "a decent level of perfomance throughout the first half and a very high level of performance in the second half. It was a great performance. We have given the team a big compliment".

The players have time off until Friday lunchtime; then they will have to start preparations for the Bundesliuga game on Saturday against Eintracht Frankfurt, a "very unpleasant team to play against, a team that has played at their absolute peak for a long time this season", according to Tuchel, but due to injuries, especially to their key player Hasebe - "they have not had the results they wanted in the second half of the season". And he went on: "they are very attentive and compact in the way they defend. It is difficult to get past their last line of defence and to ceate chances on goal. We need good ideas and good solutions."

And someone like Marco Reus can surely be the one to contribute to that. After being out for six weeks (torn ligament), the top striker is due to make his comeback against Eintracht, providing he can take part in the final training session on Friday without any problems. The Head Coach is hopeful and convinced: "Maybe Marco can play for us from the start. That would be a huge influx of energy". Gonzalo Castro (adductors) will undergo a test on Friday, and Raphael Guerreiro and Christian Pulisic, both who suffered slight knocks against Monaco and also Nuri Sahin and Emre Mor (slight infections) should also be available again. And Marc Bartra "would like nothing more than to play again on Saturday with his whole arm in a cast", according to Tuchel. One thing is for sure, the Spaniard wants to "break all records" to get fit to play again after being ruled out for four weeks.

Borussia's players want to "try to play the game at the highest possible sporting level. But you are only the best sportsman when you don't have to worry", the Head Coach said - and that is why he is especially relying "on our spectators, who have a really fine feeling of the current situtaion. They will surely help us against Eintracht". He was impressed by the choreography: " it was brilliant, fantastic to see the BVB logo on the wall for the full 90 minutes!" So together with the fans we should deliver a performance "that allows us to win the game". Boris Rupert
