If Borussia Dortmund wants to still make it through to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, then they will have to come up with something very special to break their duck. So far BVB has never got through to the next round after losing the 1st leg at their own stadium. However there are some facts before the 100. Champions League game that give hope...

Juve: BVB was the rank outsider in their 100. European Cup game in the club's history, however they won 3-1 against Juventus Turin on the 28. May, 1997 (which meant they won the title). This result would do for the 2nd leg.

France: BVB has managed to get through in four out of five KO matches against clubs from Ligue 1: 1964 against Bordeaux, 1993 and 1997 against Auxerre, 2002 against Lille. Black Yellow was only knocked out once: 2003 against Sochaux.

Strong away from home: BVB has won 58% of their away games in European competition under Thomas Tuchel (7 wins, 2 draws, 3 defeats).

Role models: two teams in the history of the UEFA Champions League have still managed to get through to the next round after losing at home: Ajax Amsterdam in the semi-final 1995/96 against Panathinaikos (0-1 at home, 3-0 away) and Inter Milan against FC Bayern Munich in the round of the last 16 2010/11 (0-1 at home, 3-2 away).

Bogey number 13: Monaco has been successful in all twelve matches in UEFA competitions, where they have won the 1st leg away from home. But the number 13 is not a lucky number. (br)
