The DFB Cup is now back in Berlin, where it will be carried into the Olympiastadion by two-time Olympic figure skating champion Katarina Witt on 27 May. Later that evening, the trophy will be held aloft either by the captain of Eintracht Frankfurt or Borussia Dortmund.

"The fact that this season can still end in silverware for Dortmund and Frankfurt is wonderful. For BVB, it would be a particularly emotional situation," said DFB President Reinhard Grindel on Friday in reference to the bomb attack that targeted the BVB Team Bus on 11 April.

Hans-Joachim Watzke and Nuri Sahin were in Berlin representing Borussia Dortmund. "We'll accept the role of favourites," explained Watzke, before emphasising: "It's remarkable what Fredi Bobic and Nivo Kovac have kickstarted at Eintracht Frankfurt. They have made them difficult to play against." In the current Bundesliga campaign the home team has claimed a narrow and hard-fought victory each time the two sides have met.

It will be BVB's fourth final appearance in a row, having lost each of the previous three finals. Sahin, however, remains optimistic. "All good things come in fours," he said. (br)
