Thomas Tuchel was very satisfied following the 2-1 victory over TSG Hoffenheim. The BVB boss highlighted the importance of the defensive display, before looking ahead to the next three weeks.

Julian Nagelsmann (TSG Hoffenheim): "We put in a good, courageous away performance. We were the better team today – despite being away from home. You saw that we wanted to win, rather than simply dominate. Dortmund's early goal played into their hands. Everyone could see it was offside. In the first 45 minutes we had a one-on-one situation with Kramaric where offside was given even though it wasn't. I think they call that 'Murphy's Law'. In the second half we didn't have any gilt-edged chances but we gave very little away up until the final few minutes. Generally I'm satisfied with my team's performance. The referee, however, did not have a good day."

Thomas Tuchel (BVB): "My team deserve the biggest-possible compliment for the level of intensity and willigness that they show in order to achieve their objectives. From the very beginning it was an outstanding defensive performance from us. That was the absolute key. Hoffenheim had to work very hard due to the relentless intensity of our defending. We didn't decide the game until very late on. At the end things got extremely close again. The spirit that we showed is more than just remarkable. But it was not a final. The season is not yet over and third place has not yet been wrapped up. It is of fundamental importance that we do not let our energy levels drop. We must now continue to work at this level for another three weeks, to expend ourselves and to overcome all resistance. We need to win another three times if we are to achieve our objectives. The season is extremely hard, extremely complicated. There are big obstacles to overcome, but we want to overcome them with everything that we've got." (gh)
