Head coach Thomas Tuchel is sweating on the fitness of three key players ahead of the final Bundesliga game of the season at home to Werder Bremen on Saturday. With around 24 hours left to go, doubts surround the involvement of Lukasz Piszczek, Matthias Ginter and Erik Durm.

This news "dampened the mood yesterday, because we weren't expecting it," Tuchel explained on Friday. Durm is experiencing problems with a vertrebra, while Ginter has a back issue. And the precautionary measure of not letting Lukasz Piszczek train on Thursday due to adductor problems has not yet produced the desired result: his participation in today's final training session remains in doubt, as does his involvement against Bremen on Saturday.

Nuri Sahin is fit again after sustaining an ankle injury in the match in Gladbach four weeks ago, while Tuchel is expecting Andre Schürrle to be available again next week. (br)
