Mario Götze and André Schürrle both took part in team training this week, but it seems as if only one of the attacking midfield duo will feature when BVB take on FC Rielasingen-Arlen in the DFB Cup on Saturday: while Schürrle is on the verge of a comeback, Götze's return to action following a five month injury lay-off is still being carefully managed.

"Mario and Schü trained with the squad this week. Schü is doing a little bit better than Mario, whom we need to deal with carefully and take things step by step," explained Peter Bosz on Thursday. The coach has also drafted a youngster into his squad following impressive training and friendly performances: A Junior champion Niclas Beste will join the team in Freiburg. "He's been called on twice and he's done well," Bosz said.

Another topic that was discussed at Thursday's press conference was Ousmane Dembélé's absence from the morning session. "He wasn't there this morning. I have no idea why," said Bosz, adding: "I hope nothing bad has happened to him." (br)
