By the end of the transfer window, the Borussia Dortmund squad had undergone a few changes: two players left the club, and three came into the fold. Two of them could already be named in the squad on Saturday for the away match against SC Freiburg.

All eyes were trained on Andrey Yarmolenko as the Ukraine man began his employ at BVB on Thursday. As the winger had been on international duty, he only participated in a running session. "He had played just two days before. For that reason, we did not allow him to train with the team", clarified Peter Bosz. "I have still to form my first impression."

The decision as to whether Yarmolenko will also fly to Freiburg will be made after the final training session today on Friday.

"He has been talked about around the club for over three years, so he is no unknown entity. He can play on either flank and has shown not only at Dynamo Kiev, but also as part of his national team that he is a quality player", said Bosz, who added: "I hope he will also become an important player for us."

While Jeremy Toljan likewise has a good chance of becoming a key player for the team in a short period of time, Jadon Sancho must stay patient for a little longer, and not least because special FIFA regulations apply in his case being, as he is, still only 17 years old. "He had not participated in training at Manchester City for a long time", Bosz made clear. "We need to build up his stamina. He is very young, but also hugely talented." Toljan, by contrast, only has to "get used to our style of play", having been at TSG Hoffenheim for their entire pre-season and the opening of the new footballing year. (br)
