Borussia Dortmund's U19s were dealt a harsh lesson in their UEFA Youth League group stage opener in London as they were beaten 4-0 (3-0) by Tottenham Hotspur, whose pressing and fast-paced football overwhelmed the German champions.

Even Jacon Bruun Larsen, who had been cleared to play by the first team, made little impact as he returned to action following a five-month injury layoff.

Tottenham's Edwards converted a penalty to put the hosts ahead with only four minutes on the clock. Bennets (30) and Sterling (33) then scored in quick succession to make it 3-0 at the interval, before Edwards added his second of the night in the 61st minute.

Elsewhere, Real Madrid's U19s thrashed Apoel Nicosia 10-0 in the group's other game. Los Blancos are the Black & Yellows' next opponents, with the two sides set to meet at NLZ Brackel on Tuesday 26 September (kick-off 16:00 CET). (wiwi)
