Everybody was of one accord here: the Dortmund victory was deserved, as was the high scoreline which ensured it. While Cologne's manager Peter Stöger was left bemoaning "too many defensive errors" made during the second half, Peter Bosz had witnessed "Cologne's quality" in the first passage of play. Besides the result, Julian Weigl delighted in his comeback.

The Managers: "The magnitude of the win was merited too"

Peter Bosz: "We deservedly won, and we played well in the second half too. I was not completely satisfied with our first half: I saw then too the quality that Cologne possess. They set up well and were compact. We were a bit lucky during one or two counterattacks that the ball didn't make its way through. After the defeat against Tottenham, it was important to win our home game. 5-0 Is a very good result."

Peter Stöger: "The victory was merited, and the magnitude of the win, 5-0, was merited too. You could say we were unfortunate at the beginning of the game. After that, we gave a good account of ourselves for 20 minutes. In the second half, we made too many defensive errors."

The players: "... I could have even got another goal"

Maximilian Philipp: "The chance that led to the first goal was set up nicely. He basically fires the ball right at my head, I get a slight contact on it, and it is in the back of the net. I hope everything has clicked into place now. I had chances in the first few games which I didn't take advantage of. Everything went well today: I could even have got another goal."

Gonzalo Castro: "If you win having scored that many goals, then the game was a very good one. You could see in the second half that Cologne were quite leggy after this busy period of fixtures. We are feeling confident looking ahead to Hamburg, but it will be a very, very difficult game."

Julian Weigl: "It was fantastic, an amazing feeling, to be back playing in the stadium. I could hardly be happier. We were very dominant, and stayed tight at the back." (br/fu)
