Germany will have five Borussia Dortmund players in their starting line-up when they take on England in an international friendly on Tuesday. Joachim Löw, the Germany coach, made this announcement on Monday. Kick-off at Wembley is 2100 CET.

Marcel Schmelzer will replace Marcel Jansen on the left of defence, while Sven Bender starts in place of the injured Sami Khedira, with Marco Reus coming in to play for Andre Schürrle on the left of midfield. And Roman Weidenfeller will be in goal to replace Toni Turek, Germany’s 1954 World Cup goalkeeper and ”Hero of Berne“, as the oldest goalkeeper to debut for the German national team - at 31 years and 308 days.

“I got a great welcome and feel right at home here. I wanted to experience what it’s like to be part of this squad and experience the national team set-up, and I’m doing that now,” said Weidenfeller in an interview with dfb.de: “This already means so much to me, and we’ll have to wait and see about the rest.”
