Set pieces, set pieces, set pieces – a typical content of training ahead of a game. Not surprisingly, it was exactly what Borussia Dortmund’s players had to practice on the sixth day of their training camp in La Manga ahead of the match against VfL Bochum on Tuesday afternoon. And following his return from the Ballon d’Or ceremoney in Zürich, Jürgen Klopp almost had a full squad available.

After carrying minor injuries in the last couple of days, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Henrikh Mkhitayran and Kevin Grosskreutz were also back in full training. Even a frightening moment in Tuesday’s session - after clashing heads with Sokratis , Robert Lewandowski was lying on the pitch but fortunately soon got to his feet again and was able to continue training – could not spoil the good mood on the sixth training day, with the sun finally shining again.

Mats Hummels and Hendrik Bonmann trained individually on the pitch next door. Only Ilkay Gündogan was not able to train on Tuesday due to bronchitis, but the medical department has already signalled that he’s on the road to recovery.

On Tuesday afternoon (kick-off 1600 CET), BVB take on neighbours VfL Bochum in nearby Murcia. In this “away” match, which will be their second friendly at their Spanish training camp, Jürgen Klopp’s men will try to implement on the field what they have practiced so far and raise their confidence for a successful second half of the season.
