Unitymedia KabelBW, the leading German cable operator with broadband networks in the German states of North Rhine-Westfalia, Hesse and Baden-Württemberg, is Borussia Dortmund’s new Champion Partner.

“We are pleased to welcome Unitymedia KabelBW, a renowned provider of Internet, telephone and TV services, as BVB’s new Champion Partner. Even before the signing of the deal, the company laid the foundation for a thrilling partnership with fresh ideas and a great video spot,” said Hans-Joachim Watzke, Borussia Dortmund’s chairmain of the management board.

The partnership between the two companies includes the use of logos and other promotional campaigns in the stadium. Among other things, the cable operator will be featured on TV screens as well as video advertising boards. The first outcome of the partnership is the jointly produced video spot “Der Unhaltbare” (The Unstoppable) which is now available on YouTube and other Internet plattforms. In the video, BVB goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller is facing a Unitymedia KabelBW football canon, with BVB coach Jürgen Klopp, stadium announcer Norbert Dickel as well as the players Sebastian Kehl, Neven Subotic and Julian Schieber spurring their keeper on.

BVB coach Jürgen Klopp said, “Speed, technique and commitment are as important in football as in the business of our new Champion Partner. These are common features that bind the two of us. It was a great collaboration during the video shoot at Signal Iduna Park and a lot of fun.”

Apart from establishing a stadium presence, the partnership agreement includes joint promotional activities for business partners and clients of Unitymedia KabelBW, with the ideas ranging from autograph sessions and photo shoots to sweepstakes for tickets and a football tournament.
