Borussia Dortmund celebrated the topping out of their new service centre “BVB FanWelt” on Thursday. The shell of the building located at the north-west corner of Signal Iduna Park is complete. “This building is a milestone in the history of Borussia Dortmund,” said Thomas Tress, the club’s CFO.

For the first time, all fan-related services will be found under one roof. “BVB FanWelt” offers everything at one place on an area of more than 2,000 square metres - from ticketing and merchandizing to travel.  Fans can make bookings for away travel or stadium tours here, or register their children for the BVB-KidsClub or the Evonik Football School, with the BVB Cafeteria and the BVB Digital Center also housed in the building.

“It’s Borussia Dortmund’s new epicentre,“ said Carsten Cramer, Director of Sales and Marketing at BVB. The advantage: a one-stop shop for all BVB fans to shop, meet, talk and connect. They no longer need to go to BVB’s headquarters or cram into the too small August-Lenz-Haus building. “BVB-FanWelt” is easy to reach, with direct access to the stadium – and the B1 highway. No more parking hassles as plenty as convenient spots are offered. No expenses have been spared.

Positive side effect: the new service centre will take some pressure off other locations which will get a visual upgrade. Moving all fan services into “BVB-FanWelt” opens up new opportunities, for example in front of the North Stand where the fan shop will separated from the visitors stand, while the information booth as well as the clearing containers are disposed, making room for additional turnstiles and entrances as well as additional and much needed special entrances for VIPs.  The megastore in Hörde will move into the new service centre, while the “Artrion” will now be used exclusively as an administrative building with no fan services.

From an architectural point of view, “BVB-FanWelt” will be offering the opportunity “to show the dimension of the brand for the first time from the ground up without any restrictions,” said Carsten Cramer.

"BVB FanWelt" is scheduled to open in time for the start of the 2014/15 season, and due to the mild weather construction is ahead of schedule. Upon the completion, Borussia Dortmund will have invested seven to eight million euros, from the foundation to the interior design – and everything for their fans.
