Following Mats Hummels’ entirely deserved inclusion in the ranks of the Bundesliga’s “World Class” performers (kicker magazine) today saw Marco Reus earn the same tag. In the opinion of the Bundesliga captains, the magazine's readers and it's sister publication "11 Freunde" Reus was voted the best player of last season.

Whilst in the category of “wide attacking” players Reus ranked third behind Thomas Müller and Arjen Robben (both Bayern) all three earned the status of “World Class” with the magazine going on to explain that had injury not denied him “he would undoubtedly have shown himself to be one of the leading lights in the game. It was his consistently excellent showing in the Bundesliga which guaranteed his prominent position in this year’s rankings.”
