Borussia Dortmund’s third new signing, after Ciro Immobile and Dong-Won Ji, has started training. Adrian Ramos began his pre-season on Saturday following his extended World Cup holiday. He commented, “I face a mighty challenge, and I am looking forwa5-1”

Whilst the bulk of the squad embarked on a session of interval running (5 x 1000 meters) athletics coach Andrea Beck supervised an individual programme with Ramos combining ball work and co-ordination tests.

The striker will have plenty of opportunities to get to know his new team mates. Today, he travels with the team to the game in Essen with Jürgen Klopp as yet unsure if he will give Ramos a few minutes of game-time. Then on Tuesday the squad begin their nine-day training camp in Bad Ragaz (Switzerland). Sokratis, who starts pre-season on Monday, will be part of the squad heading south.
