In perfect conditions, with sunny skies and temperatures reaching 20 degrees Celsius, Jürgen Klopp and his coaching team put the squad through the first training sessions at the La Manga Club Resort located at the Costa Cálida in Spain.

After a short speech by the Dortmund coach, the team began training under the Spanish sun, watched by members of the press and around 100 fans. There were two sessions on Sunday, one at 10 am and one at 4 pm, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Adrian Ramos following an individual programme.

“Every player knows what it is about. We need a great preparation to turn the switch,” said new signing Kevin Kampl at the daily press conference, summing up the goal for the next week.

With the exception of the injured Sven Bender, the entire team travelled to La Manga, with Under-19 goalkeeper Steffen Göcke as well as Tammo Harder, Jon Gorenc Stankovic and Jeremy Dudziak from BVB’s Under-23 side and, for the first time, 16-year-old Felix Passlack completing the squad in Spain.
