Deniz Aytekin will take charge of Wednesday evening's DFB Cup last 16 tie between Borussia Dortmund and Hertha BSC at Signal Iduna Park. He will be assisted by linesmen Christian Dietz and Eduard Beitinger, while Arne Aarnink will be the fourth official.

Aytekin has previously overseen 16 Bundesliga matches involving Borussia Dortmund. There have been nine victories, two draws and five defeats.

The 38-year-old, who is regarded as one of Germany's top referees, has also officiated several DFB Cup ties involving the Black and Yellows, such as the 3-0 victory over Hertha BSC in last season's semi-final and the 3-2 win (after extra-time) over TSG Hoffenheim at the 2014/15 quarter-final stage.

The Oberasbach native, who featured at EURO 2012 as a "goal-line assistant", lists sport and music among his interests and has previously refereed 123 times in the Bundesliga. (br)
