On 19 April the BVB Evonik Football Academy was able to announce an official three-year partnership with the Tokyo-Yokohama German School (DSTY).

The DSTY consists of a nursery, a primary school and a high school, where students can obtain a German Abitur diploma. The DSTY is working alongside BVB to introduce a new football league for DSTY pupils as well as those at other schools and clubs in Japan. What is more, our colleagues in Tokyo will help the DSTY in a number of other ways, including planning, coordination, training, school administration and the organisation of workshops and coaching courses.

"It's great to be able to offer DSTY students a specific and comprehensive football excellence program while sharing our knowledge and philosophy about BVB with the entire school. Students will find out what it's like to be coached the BVB way,'' said Suresh Letchmanan, BVB managing director for Asia Pacific. "The program will also provide insights into other aspects of the industry, such as the theory behind our coaching techniques and how to support football player development."
