First Borusse who joined the national team was the legendary August Lenz. He made his international match debut against Belgium (6-1) in Brussels on 28 April 1935 and promptly scored two goals. Altogether, Borussia's striker was successful nine times in 14 international matches. In reminiscence of BVB's first international player the club's office in Strobelallee is called "August-Lenz-Haus"
