For the more than 950 official BVB fan clubs, the fan club Christmas party is, under normal circumstances, a special highlight to celebrate the end of the year, ending the year together with the team. In view of the extremely dynamic pandemic situation, the fan club Christmas party could unfortunately not take place as usual again this year. As an alternative, a digital fan club Christmas event therefore took place for the second time.

In order not to completely miss out on the fan club Christmas party, all official BVB fan clubs were invited to the second digital fan club Christmas event on 13 December 2021. This was broadcast live from the media centre in the stadium and from the training ground in Brackel, so that the numerous fan club members could watch the livestream from home. More than 450 BVB fan clubs accepted the invitation from the Fan Affairs department.

After Björn Hegemann, Head of the Fan Affairs department, and Carsten Cramer, BVB Managing Director, welcomed all participating BVB fan clubs and thanked them for their commitment and support over the past months, Marco Reus and Marco Rose were connected live from the training ground in Brackel for interviews. Both looked back on the current season and fondly remembered the return and support of the fans at home games. Both also spoke about personal goals for the coming year and what they thought of the recent Europa League draw.

As another highlight, BVB legends Teddy de Beer and Roman Weidenfeller were then guests for a Legends Talk. The two former goalkeepers shared some interesting and funny anecdotes from past fan club Christmas parties, such as the beer tapping skills of some BVB professionals. Both emphasised that personal contact with the numerous fans was naturally missing despite the digital possibilities. Furthermore, both recounted many exciting moments during their goalkeeping careers as well as during their time together at BVB.

The traditional raffle with numerous Black and Yellow prizes was of course again not to be missed this year. Erling Haaland, Gregor Kobel and Jude Bellingham did not miss the chance to draw the lots in a live broadcast from the training ground in Brackel and announce the lucky winning fan clubs. Special prizes awaited the fan clubs included a trip to a BVB away game overseas, playing shirts signed by the BVB first team and art prints signed by Erling Haaland, Gregor Kobel and Jude Bellingham during the live broadcast.

We would like to take this opportunity to once again to thank all the BVB fan clubs who have been socially involved in many ways this year. The positive work of many fan clubs, whether through donations in the context of the flood disaster or through voluntary commitment around the Corona pandemic, was once again more than impressive this year. We wish all fan clubs a wonderful Advent season, a Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year.
