On Friday evening 8 April, BVB travels to play VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga. The match will kick off at 20:30 CET in the Mercedes-Benz Arena. Around 5,500 BVB fans will support the team live. We have summarised the most important information for all travelling BVB fans.

Arrival

When travelling by car or bus, it is recommended to avoid passing through Stuttgart. The following directions are recommended by VfB Stuttgart: 

  • A 81 exit Mundelsheim - L1115 direction Grossbottwar/Backnang - B14 direction Stuttgart - exit Benzstrasse or enter Benzstrasse via B10 and B14.
  • The Mercedes-Benz Arena is located in the middle of the environmental zone of the state capital Stuttgart. Since 1 January 2019, a year-round traffic ban has been in force in the entire city area for all motor vehicles with diesel engines in emission class Euro 4/IV and worse. Only the green sticker is valid in Stuttgart. In addition, a zonal traffic ban for diesel vehicles with emission class 5/V and worse will apply in the Stuttgart valley basin and the Bad Cannstatt (!) district, among others, from 1 July 2020.

Arrival by car:

  • Visiting fans arriving by car can use the P7 multi-storey car park free of charge.
  • Navigation system: Martin-Schrenk-Weg, 70372 Stuttgart. 

Arrival by bus:

  • Visiting buses and "9-seaters" can park on Benzstrasse in the immediate vicinity of the guest area. Sufficient parking spaces for buses are available on Benzstrasse.

Arrival by train: 

  • Take tram line 1 to the "Neckarpark" stop. From there, the visitors' block is within walking distance (5 min.).
  • Please avoid Bad Cannstatt station, which is the meeting point for home fans.
  • On home match days, the ticket entitles the holder to travel on all VVS means of transport from 7 hours before the match until 05:00 CET the following day.

Admission

  • The stadium opens at 18:30 CET.
  • Access to the visitors area is via the spur road from Benzstrasse.
  • Based on the new Corona Protection Ordinance, there will be no 3G checks at the entrance. VfB Stuttgart asks all those who have not been vaccinated or have not recovered to take a quick test on their own.
  • There is no obligation to wear a mask. However, it is recommended to wear a mask in sensitive areas of the stadium, such as the entrance.

Permitted fan paraphernalia:

  • 3 megaphones (allocated)
  • 6 drums (open at the bottom, visible, each with a set of drumsticks)
  • Fence flags (as long as space is available)
  • Small flags (stick length up to max. 1.50 m, empty PVC tube)
  • Swivel flags (pole length up to max. 2 m, empty PVC tube)
  • Large swivel flags (telescopic poles up to max. 5 m, empty plastic tube)
  • Double holder (pole length up to max. 2 m, empty tube made of PVC)

Please note that only sticks and poles made of empty PVC pipe with a max. diameter of 30 mm are permitted. 

Permitted items:

  • Digital cameras for personal use (not larger than 15 cm).
  • Bags and backpacks not exceeding DIN-A4 size
  • Small umbrellas (pegs).

Prohibited items:

  • Powerbanks
  • Bottles and cans
  • Larger umbrellas

Further information on admission: 

  • There are only a limited number of lockers at the visitors entrance where luggage can be left. Please leave your backpacks and bags in the cars and buses.
  • The alcohol limit is 1.4 per milligram. Random checks will be carried out. Admission will not be granted if the alcohol level exceeds 1.4 per mg.

Stadium 

  • The visitors area is located in blocks 61, 62, 63, 64 and 65.
  • Masks are not compulsory. However, it is recommended to wear a mask in sensitive areas (e.g. kiosks and toilets) of the stadium.
  • Cash can be used at the kiosks. In addition, cash points with contactless payment (EC, GooglePay, ApplePay, etc.) are available.

Further information 

  • Please also note the fan letter from the Stuttgart police.
  • Fans who have been banned from the stadium can stay at the nearby PSV home and watch the match. The PSV home is located in Fritz-Walter-Weg.
  • In the event of misuse of fan paraphernalia, VfB Stuttgart reserves the right to prohibit the bringing in of fan paraphernalia at matches in subsequent seasons.

Barrier free fan information 

  • Seats for wheelchair users and visually impaired BVB fans are located in the Untertürkheimer Kurve area. Tickets for the visually impaired are located in blocks 75 A and B.
  • Access is via gate 17 in Fritz-Walter-Weg. Volunteers will be available here as contact persons.
  • Parking spaces for wheelchair users and BVB fans with walking difficulties are available in car park P7.
