Coach Lucien Favre and goalscorers Mario Götze and Raphael Guerreiro shared their thoughts on the match against Hannover 96.

Lucien Favre: "It was a very difficult first half for us. We struggled to create chances to score. Hannover performed well and showed great courage by pressing us very high up the pitch. It took us time to find the gaps. At the break we said that we needed to get the second as quickly as possible. It was easier for us after that."

Mario Götze: "We struggled at the beginning. We initially lacked control, Hannover performed well in the first half. As a result, we were not entirely satisfied with the way the first period panned out, despite taking the lead. In the second half, though, things went really well. We took our goalscoring opportunities and deserved to win. We want to keep on course, put our foot on the gas and keep the level up. When you play as a play-making number nine, it's important to get into shooting positions and to score goals too. Yes, it's nice for me – and scoring at home too, in front of the South Stand, and picking up the three points: that's a positive aspect for me and good for the team."

Raphael Guerreiro: "It was important for us to win this game too. We showed that we've come back equally as strong as before the winter break. That's how we want to continue. The first half was very intense. Thereafter the pressing of the opposition dropped off, and when we went 2-0 up they probably lost some hope. That enabled us to win." (cr)
