Thank you, Singapore! Hello, Malaysia! After six days in Singapore, Borussia Dortmund's team travelled by bus to Malaysia on Monday, where the friendly match against the Johor Southern Tigers is scheduled for the evening. BVB legends Roman Weidenfeller and Patrick Owomoyela made the most of the time leading up to kick-off to visit the local BVB fan club.

The words "Welcome to Johor" are displayed on a yellow poster in a restaurant in Johor, with the logos of both clubs also visible. The loudspeakers play "Olé, here comes BVB". BVB jerseys from years gone by hang on the walls. The chairman of the fan club has collected all the club's jerseys since 1993 and has brought along a few showpieces from his collection.

BVB's Asian tour has allowed the "Malaysian Dortmund Fans Club" to get very close to the team who usually play thousands of kilometres away. More than 20 members of the fan club made the trip to Johor. Most of them live in the capital Kuala Lumpur, which is over a four-hour drive away. Almost all of them wore BVB jerseys.

Applause filled the room as Roman Weidenfeller and Patrick Owomoyela entered. One fan admitted to being a little nervous. He saw it as a great honour to have the two BVB legends visit the fan club. Both took time for autographs and selfies with the Malaysian fans. Later, managing director Carsten Cramer and Nobby Dickel also joined the group before heading to the stadium for the match. (cr)
