Alina Grijseels has been voted the Women's Handballer of the Year. The BVB captain, who previously claimed the award in 2021, won the vote by a record margin.

Alina Grijseels has been voted Germany's best female handballer for the second time. In a vote that has been conducted annually by the readers of "Handballwoche" since 1978, she prevailed by a large margin once again. She amassed a total of 5562 points and therefore finished well ahead of her two international team-mates, Emily Bölk of Ferencváros (1728) and Xenia Smits of SG BBM Bietigheim (1512).

Grijseels is the first Black & Yellow to receive the coveted award on two occasions. Michaele Erler (1995), Franziska Heinz (1997) and Clara Woltering (2017) previously won the tradition-steeped accolade once each as BVB players.
