Carsten Cramer, the Borussia Dortmund director of Sales and Marketing said: "Spanish is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world and we have noticed an ever growing interest in Borussia Dortmund from many Spanish speaking countries. We want give our Spanish speaking fans and friends of our club the possibility to be part of the fascination surrounding Borussia Dortmund in their own language."

Gonzalo Castro, the BVB player with Spanish roots, had this to say about the new Spanish website: "more Spanish speaking fans will be more and more interested in BVB in the future, especially considering our two new players that we have signed from Spain, Marc Bartra and Mikel Merino. For all of them and also my family and friends in Spain, the new Spanish website is a great opportunity to keep up to date with the Bundesliga, the DFB Cup and also the UEFA Champions League in what will hopefully be a successful season 2016/2017."

Mikel Merino, who is new to BVB and Dortmund, wants to use the Spanish version website "especially at the start of my time here when I don't understand that much German, so that I can get to know the club and its history better. And of course I would be very happy if as many fans as possible in Spain and in other Spanish speaking countries will follow us this way and keep up to date on how we are doing as a team."
