The new corona regulations give institutions, companies, people in private spaces, and public supporters more leeway in the organisation of events than previously. After Borussia Dortmund announced on 5 October that more than 67,000 fans would be allowed to attend BVB's Bundesliga games at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK based on amended regulations, the conditions for stadium access have now also been confirmed. As in the past, Borussia Dortmund will go beyond the legal requirements.

Following an exchange with various institutions directly or indirectly involved in the organisation of Bundesliga games, the following will apply for the future and for the first home game against Mainz 05: from the age of 6, every visitor to SIGNAL IDUNA PARK that can't provide digital proof that they have been fully vaccinated or have recovered from coronavirus must present a negative PCR test no more than 48 hours old, or a negative daily antigen rapid test (not a self-test) in digital form, to gain entry.

We are aware that in the midst of this pandemic there are arguments for and against almost every decision. We still believe that our previous decision to allow mostly recovered and vaccinated people into the stadium was the right one; especially in light of our efforts to actively promote the vaccination campaign. We have always supported the vaccination campaign - highlighted through our vaccination centre and mobile vaccination teams - and we will continue to do so.

In the meantime, NRW is ranked third amongst the German states regarding those vaccinated at least once (72.8%) and those fully vaccinated (68.3%), and thus four percent above the national average in both cases. Every citizen in the country has been offered vaccination and yet, at a point in the pandemic where nearly 80% of all adults are fully vaccinated, it is still fair to say that some citizens do not want to, or will not, get vaccinated.

We are convinced that we can now take the next step into living around the virus - and in doing so, we will once again set ourselves up stricter than the corona regulations stipulate: among other things, by testing on a daily basis, but also by applying the 2G principle due to the greater risk of infection in closed spaces.
