Borussia Dortmund paid a brilliant tribute on Sunday afternoon to the Black & Yellow heroes of the nineties during the 4-1 win over Werder Bremen wearing special playing shirts with neon yellow applications. It was sold out within only a matter of hours, even though BVB had ordered five times as many shirts as in the previous special shirt campaign. In the meantime, 150,000 people visited the online fan shop at the same time. A total of 50,000 shirts were ordered. Nevertheless, many fans went away empty-handed.

A few hours after all the shirts were sold out, Carsten Cramer had some positive news for all those BVB supporters who had missed out on Sunday. "It wasn't a limited edition right from the start. The interest was simply overwhelming and clearly exceeded our own - to be honest, already high - expectations. That's why we reached an agreement with our long-term supplier PUMA on Monday night to produce more shirts and would like to thank them for their cooperation at short notice. At the same time, we know that the production and delivery of the merchandise will take some time," said Borussia Dortmund's managing director.

The special shirt can be ordered again online on bvbonlineshop.com from Wednesday, 21 April at 9 am. It can be ordered until Saturday, 24 April at 7.09 pm. Delivery of all the ordered special shirts is expected to take place from 16.8.2021.
