Borussia Dortmund versus 1. FC Cologne. The two historic clubs have gone head-to-head on 89 occasions in the Bundesliga. We've put together the most important facts to keep you informed ahead of Saturday's west-German match-up.

The scenario: Second against second bottom - both teams come into the match with vastly different fortunes thus far this season. Borussia have won six of their eight league matches thus far, while FC are still looking for a win. In fact, Cologne's last win in Dortmund dates back almost 30 years - a 2-1 victory on 13 April 1991.

Home/away: BVB have won three of their four home games in the league this season. Cologne have picked up two of their three points away from home, with both of them coming in their two most recent road trips: a 1-1 draw in Stuttgart on Matchday 5 and another 1-1 draw in Bremen on Matchday 7.

Personnel matters: The Black & Yellows are missing Reinier (household quarantine), Schmelzer (rehab following knee operation) and Zagadou (training following torn lateral collateral ligament). Cologne are likely to make the trip to Dortmund without Hector (cervical spine problem), Kainz (lacking match fitness), Modeste (muscle problems)and Schmitz (fitness training).

Head-to-head: Borussia Dortmund have gone unbeaten in their last 20 home games against 1. FC Cologne (16 wins, four draws). This is BVB's longest-ever unbeaten home run against any club. In total. Cologne have won just six of their 44 away games in Dortmund (14%) - an even lower win percentage than away to Bayern (20%).

Statistics: Borussia Dortmund have won five of their last six Bundesliga matches. No other team have won more games this season than the Black & Yellows (six in total). Lucien Favre's side have scored the second-highest number of goals (20) and conceded the third-fewest (7). BVB have kept a clean sheet in five of their eight league matches this season - more than any other club. Cologne have failed to win any of their past 18 Bundesliga matches and haven't been able to keep a clean sheet in 19 league games - two undesired club records. Nonetheless, despite their poor run, Cologne have failed to score in only one of their last 28 Bundesliga games.

Biggest home win: On 15 October 1966, the Black & Yellows ran out 6-1 winners in the Rote Erde Stadion thanks to goals from Lothar Emmerich (3), Reinhold Wosab (2) and Siegfried Held.
