The Borussia Dortmund ladies have won the big match at the top of the Bezirksliga, beating second-in-the-table TuS Germania Lohauserholz 7-0 (3-0). The BVB women broke the 100-goal mark for the season as they cruised to victory. Marie Grothe and Mandy Reinhardt each scored twice.

The victory all but seals the league title for the BVB ladies. 17 games, 17 wins, 101 goals scored with only 4 conceded, the Dortmund women are now 16 points clear at the top of the table. "We now want to be perfect and seal promotion to the Landesliga as soon as possible," said BVB coach Thomas Sulewski, outlining the plan for the coming weeks.

In heavy rain in the Rabenloh, his team controlled the game from the outset and laid siege to the opposing goal. On 16 minutes, the ball was on the net for the first time after a Marie Grothe shot from 18 yards was deflected by TuS defender Yasmine Stromberg, giving the goalkeeper no chance. The Black and Yellows continued to create good opportunities and managed two more goals before the first half was over. Mandy Reinhardt converted an Ann-Katrin Lau cross with her outstretched leg on 29 minutes, and Mia Macarena Bedarf was on the spot after a corner from Vanessa Kuhl to fire home a low shot just six minutes later. "We showed the right attitude and used the space cleverly," Sulewski said after the match.

After the sides changed ends, Sandra Schröer initially had to show off all her skills to save a shot from Lucy Buchmann and maintain BVB's clean sheet at home for the entire season. It was the only precarious situation the Black and Yellows faced during the entire game, as Dortmund dominated once again thereafter.

Grothe scored with a low shot from the edge of the penalty area to make it 4-0 with 56 minutes played, and Reinhardt added a fifth, having shrugged off two defenders in the box and prodded the ball past the keeper on 62 minutes. The stands erupted with cheers in the 71th minute, as Lea Rogge-Herper's perfectly placed shot into the top-right corner meant not only the 6-0, but also Dortmund's 100th goal in the Bezirksliga this season.

Ann-Katrin Lau put the exclamation mark on the scoreline, rounding-off an excellent performance to make it 7-0 from the penalty spot. "We didn't do quite as well in the first half, but we upped it in the second half and our superior quality was certainly the key to victory," said Lau, who got two assists on top of her goal.

Next Sunday, 2 April, the Dortmund derby will take place at Eintracht Dorstfeld. The match in the Eintracht Stadium will kick-off at 15:00 CET as the Black and Yellows look to take the next step on their march to the Landesliga.
