Two long-term partners who both bring a lot to the table have decided to remain loyal to each other: eight-time German champions Borussia Dortmund and Ruhr beer Brinkhoff's No. 1 have prematurely agreed to extend their cooperation until the end of the 2022/23 season. Brinkhoff’s No. 1 will now be by BVB's side as a so-called Champion Partner for at least the next eight years.

"It is no secret that other breweries have also come knocking on our door and signalled their interest in a cooperation with us. Personally I am delighted that two brands from the region - Borussia Dortmund and Brinkhoff's No. 1 - will work together closely in the future," emphasised Hans-Joachim Watzke, Borussia Dortmund's CEO. Carsten Cramer, Director of Marketing & Sales for the Black and Yellows, said: "By concluding this agreement, we have combined our passion for the city of Dortmund, a high intrinsic value and a good taste."

A TRUE LOVE for intensive football and good beer traditionally connect Brinkhoff's No. 1 and BVB - whether it's at home games at Signal Iduna Park, in pubs, in fan projects such as the Südtribünenmeisterschaft (South Stand Championship) or on Brinkhoff’s Ballgeflüster (Brinkhoff's Football Whispers), a football talk show broadcast on "BVB total!", the club's official TV channel.

"We are a well-coordinated team. The fact that we are continuing this partnership, which has been successful for both parties, in the long term is good news," said Thomas Schneider, CEO of Dortmunder Brauereien (Dortmund Breweries).

The alliance between BVB and Brinkhoff's No. 1 has developed into an active, lively partnership in recent years - and one that extends well beyond classic perimeter advertising. "For example, through our BVB special editions we regularly show our close connection to BVB on Brinkhoff's No. 1 bottles. And we do so several million times," added brewery director Uwe Helmich.

A taste of the Ruhr
Brinkhoff’s No. 1 is the beer which has the special character of the Ruhr and the people who live there. People who know where they belong and give an open and honest opinion. In short: they are just as genuine as a fresh Brinkhoff's No. 1, brewed according to the recipe of Fritz Brinkhoff. Born into a family which owned a malthouse in the heart of the Ruhr, he developed a love for beer at a young age. As a master brewer, he later showed pioneering spirit and developed Dortmund's light beer into what is has become today: Brinkhoff's No. 1. A taste of the Ruhr. Other varieties include Brinkhoff's alcohol-free beer, Brinkhoff's shandy and Brinkhoff's cola+beer. More info at www.brinkhoffs.de
