Borussia Dortmund have completed the transfer of Portuguese international and European Championship participant Raphaël Guerreiro for the coming season. The 22-year-old left-back will be given a four-year contract which runs until 30 June 2020.

"Raphaël Guerreiro is a technically experienced player who is equally comfortable in several positions. We are very happy that he has decided to come to Borussia Dortmund," said BVB Sporting Director Michael Zorc.

Guerreiro has dual French and Portuguese citizenship and will be making the move to the Adi-Preißler-Allee from French outfit Lorient-Bretagne Sud, for whom he has played for the last three seasons.

The 1.70-metre-tall man can be deployed on the left wing - both in defence and in attack. Last season he featured in 34 of FC Lorient's 38 matches in the French top flight, Ligue 1, and has thus far scored two goals in seven international appearances for Portugal, which is the homeland of his father. In total, he played for FC Lorient on 102 occasions, scoring ten goals in the process.
