The Signal Iduna Park will be transformed into a festive stage on Sunday. Around 30,000 guests are expected when the singalong concert consisting of two 45 minute sessions begins at 16:30. The event is called "Dortmund sings Christmas Carols", and over 25,000 tickets for it from €5 have already been sold.

Admission is at 14:30. Only the north entrances to the Signal Iduna Park will be open. Wheelchair users should use the special access point "Nord-Ost" (North East) next to "Strobels". For security reasons, no bags, prams/strollers or baby seats ("Maxi Cosi") may be taken into the stadium. Car parking spots are available in the known public car parks around the stadium. Please note that parking is not permitted on Strobelallee during large events such as this one. The "Luftbad" car park may only be used by vehicles with the required authorisation.

More than 20 traditional and modern German and English language Christmas Carols are due to be sung by the black and yellow Christmas choir, which will be led by Norbert Dickel. BVB fan and pop star Sasha will join in with a number of selected songs: "I am really looking forward to paying my home a visit and hope that many Dortmunders and BVB fans will come to sing a few nice Christmas songs together with one another."

The public will have strong vocal support in the form of the Dortmund Concert House Choir Academy. The afternoon will be accompanied instrumentally by two ensembles, who have both developed in their own way a unique sound, and who will make for an atmospheric musical accompaniment: the seven person band Filou and the  string quartet La Finesse.

A number of famous BVB faces are also expected on the third Sunday of Advent in order to get themselves in the mood for Christmas a week before the festival with songs such as "The Snow Falls Softly at Night", "Merry Christmas Everywhere", "White Christmas", "Jingle Bells" or "In the Christmas Bakery". The anthem "Light up my star, Borussia" will of course be sung too.

Furthermore, the stadium will receive a "heavenly visit" on Sunday, as the Christ Child from Engelskirchen will be present and happy to meet every single child who goes to visit him in Deutsche Post's Christmas post office in front of the stadium, and who sends him a nice message. If this is delivered on location, there will be a prompt answer for Christmas from the Christ Child. Children are warmly invited to have their photo taken with the Christ Child and collect a small surprise. Thanks to the Deutsche Post serving as partner to "Dortmund Sings Christmas Carols", all children up to the age of 9 will have the opportunity to get a free ticket of admission.

Tickets for "Dortmund sings Christmas Carols" are available from €5 from all the usual BVB advanced sales locations as well as at www.bvb.de/weihnachtssingen.

The on the day ticket sales desks in the BVB FanWelt open on Sunday from 14:00 CET. (br)
