The top 09 kit designs made it into the final of the "Design datt Ding" competition. Borussia Dortmund's teams have been playing in the winning design since the start of the season. The other finalists, meanwhile, were able to enjoy unique kits based on their designs at the home match against Wolfsburg.

BVB invited all of the finalists of the "Design datt Ding" competition, where fans were given the chance to design the current home shirt, to attend the home match against Wolfsburg together. The current away shirt was also chosen from the numerous entries. The designer of the black shirt and the winner behind the children's design were also invited.

Before the match, the designers met BVB managing director Carsten Cramer and PUMA officials in front of the dugout at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK. As a special prize, PUMA had created a special one-off shirt based on their designs for all finalists who did not win and gave it to each of the participants as a unique memento, much to the delight of the creative BVB fans. A one-off version of the children's kit was also produced.
