A night to remember for the marketing team at BVB: the club was awarded two prizes - ''Licensed Product of the Year'' and ''Sports Brand of the Year'' - at the annual ''Licensing International Awards Germany''.
The ''Licensed Product of the Year'' award went to the ''Black & Yellow Tactics Board'' released by RITTER SPORT in collaboration with BVB. Since its foundation, the confectionery brand had never featured a logo other than its own on its famous square chocolate bar. The ''Black & Yellow tactics board'' thus represented an historic first. The product proved a real success, flying off the shelves in club retail outlets and grocery shops across the country. Both RITTER SPORT and BVB certainly benefited from the collaboration.
BVB also won an award in the ''Sports Brand of the Year'' category. The awards panel cited the club's success in launching various co-branding products on the market. Just one example of such a product comes in the form of ''mymuesli'', a special brand of muesli produced by team chef Dennis Rother for the Black & Yellow faithful.
