Roman Bürki bemoaned the lack of penetration, while Mario Götze said more courage was required "to make something happen". The coach and his players were anything but satisfied following the 0-0 draw at 1. FC Nuremberg.

Lucien Favre: "Every match is difficult. We didn't play badly. We had enough chances to at least get one goal. But we didn't manage it. We had a lot of possession but we should've put the ball into the penalty area more often. Nuremberg were very defensive-minded, they were waiting with 11 men behind the ball. We need to deal with that better. We should improve a few things, sometimes play across from left to right with more tempo which forces the opposition to move across and tires them out more quickly. We're disappointed with the result. That comes with not winning five games in a row. Sometimes that can happen in a season."

Mario Götze: "That wasn't not enough. We need to get the three points. We had one or two goalscoring chances but we need to be more consistent. We need to play more offensively and get into the opposition box more quickly. Obviously it's not easy, especially when they sit very deep. In the second period, we performed slightly better. We sometimes also need to try to play the ball blindly out to the flanks, to do something to make something happen. We didn't manage that today. We need to improve and pick up points."

Roman Bürki: "We've now gone two games without scoring. At least we kept a clean sheet today, but the opponent didn't manage to create much. Nonetheless, it's very frustrating to watch from a distance. We had one or two opportunities but nothing clear-cut. We were lacking a bit of penetration. The opponents known our strengths from the first half of the season and are setting themselves up accordingly. There were almost 11 Nuremberg players in their box."

Matthias Sammer: "Dortmund gave it a go, they were committed and created one or two shots. Nuremberg fought to get a point."
