The Borussia Dortmund women's team earned a deserved 2-1 (0-1) win in their last match of the Kreisliga season against SV Körne. Both BVB goals were scored by Hannah Goosmann (55/59).

"In the first half, our thoughts were seemingly already on the promotion match on Wednesday. Nevertheless, it was a perfect season with the 18 wins in 18 games," summed up BVB coach Thomas Sulewski after the final whistle of a game played in front of 381 fans at the BVB Evonik Football Academy.

The Black & Yellows were the superior team, although their chance creation in the first half left a lot to be desired. "We didn't have any clear-cut chances in the first 45 minutes, we were simply too unfocused in the final third," said Sulewski. The away team defended smartly and mainly waited for the opportunity to launch counter-attacks, which is how they scored the opening goal in the 17th minute. For BVB, it was only the third goal conceded in the entire season. Marie Schultz got the better of two defenders and then drilled a shot into the bottom-left corner. "Their goal came just as we were a player down," noted Sulewski. Allegra Gerres had fallen on the back of her head after an aerial duel and had to be treated on the sidelines. Hanna Schneider came on to replace her in the 20th minute.

"The players executed everything in the way I envisioned"

BVB were far more aggressive and offensive-minded in the second period. "We talked about our mistakes in the dressing room. The players executed everything in the way I envisioned," said Sulewski. The Black & Yellows were on their game and managed to put Körne under more and more pressure, forcing them deep into their own half. Then, in the 55th minute, the equaliser finally came: striker Hannah Goosmann got her head on a corner and guided the ball into the net of Körne goalkeeper Tapti to bring the two sides level at 1-1. Just four minutes later, the 17-year-old was in the right place again and had a simple finish to make it 2-1 (59). It was her 23rd goal of the season.

"We turned the game around within 15 minutes after the break. That was important. We remained the better team after that. In the end, we should have won by two more goals," said Sulewski in his assessment of the game.
