The 33-year-old referee from Hanover will conduct the meeting between the two clubs on Matchday 4 in Sinsheim.

In December 2017, the whistle was blown to start the Bundesliga tie between Borussia Dortmund and TSG Hoffenheim at the Signal Iduna Park. BVB went into the lead through a late goal from Christian Pulisic to make it 2-1.
