The two teams' head-to-head record is almost even ahead of their latest meeting: Borussia have won 28 of the previous 77 Bundesliga duels, while Bayer have claimed 27 victories. Here we have compiled everything you need to know about the match on Saturday, which kicks off at Signal Iduna Park at 18:30 CET, into the usual compact format.

The reverse fixture ended in a 1-1 draw.

The scenario: A victory would see fourth-placed Borussia Dortmund reclaim the third place they lost to Bayer Leverkusen last weekend. Both teams currently have 51 points on the board but Bayer boast the marginally better goal difference (+18/+16).

Home/away: Dortmund have won their last three home games and are unbeaten in their last eight outings in front of their own fans. Only Bayern Munich have more away wins (11) than Bayer (seven), who have come out on top in three of their four most recent away outings and have only lost one of their last 12 away matches.

Personnel matters: Peter Stöger will give a personnel update on Thursday at 12:30 CET (live on BVB total!). Leverkusen will be without the injured Wendell and the suspended Lars Bender (fifth yellow card).

Head-to-head: BVB have taken all three points in three of their last five meetings with Leverkusen. There has been a winner in each of their last eight clashes at Signal Iduna Park: BVB on five occasions, Bayer on three. In seven of those eight victories, the winner kept a clean sheet. Only in Munich have Leverkusen suffered more away defeats than they have in Dortmund (19).

Statistics: Only Bayern Munich have lost fewer times this season (three) than Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen (both seven). Bayer are unbeaten in 15 matches in which they scored first, while BVB have not lost any of the last 11 in which they broke the deadlock.

Biggest home win: On 4 March 2017, BVB recorded a 6-2 victory over Leverkusen thanks to goals from Ousmane Dembélé (6), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (26/70), Christian Pulisic (77), André Schürrle (penalty, 85) and Raphael Guerreiro (90+2). Kevin Volland and Wendell got the goals for Bayer.

Referee: The DFB will announce the appointment on Thursday.

Attendance: With the exception of 500 spaces for away faces, the penultimate home game of the 2017/18 season is sold out. From 16:00 CET on the day of the match, around 400 standing tickets and 100 seated tickets for blocks 56 and 59 will be available for purchase from the away box office. Leverkusen will be bringing 4,300 fans.
